Since launching a few weeks ago, Ameren Missouri's Community Solar program has generated significant customer interest. With the program more than 85% subscribed, customers interested in participating are encouraged to sign up now.
The voluntary program allows residents and small businesses to support, and benefit from, solar energy without installing a single panel on their roof. This program is perfect for those who want to take part in generating renewable energy but live in an area with large trees and shade, rent their home, or are looking for options to avoid up-front costs of private solar.
Visit AmerenMissouri.com/CommunitySolar to enroll. A new, one-megawatt solar facility, to be built just north of St. Louis Lambert International Airport, will supply the energy. As soon as the project is 100% enrolled, Ameren Missouri will begin construction. Panels could be in service as soon as next summer.
Community Solar is another way Ameren Missouri is making the transition to cleaner generation in a responsible fashion with a goal of cutting carbon emissions 80% by 2050.
